DSI Exceeds $30 million in Administrative Claims for State of Florida
TALLAHASSEE, FL - DSI announced today that it has achieved a significant milestone in its effort to support the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) in the collection and submission of reimbursement claims to FEMA for all eligible administrative costs incurred by the State on Presidentially-declared disasters. The process, called Directive Administrative Costs (DAC), requires the close alignment of documented costs to specific projects worked by FDEM, DSI and FEMA as part of the FEMA Public Assistance Program. As of March 31, 2016, DSI has compiled and submitted to FDEM management DAC claims totaling over $30 million, including $5.7 million in grantee DAC. This sets a national benchmark in this important area of recovery funding and provides the necessary foundation for FDEM to aggressively seek final reimbursement from FEMA. The joint FDEM/DSI effort has established a model process that promises to maximize all eligible funding back to the taxpayers of Florida.
