DSI Announces Major Achievement in Grant Closeouts for all 2004-2005 Disasters
TALLAHASSEE, FL - DSI announced today that, in partnership with the FDEM, a long-anticipated and critical goal has been accomplished. As of December 31, 2015 all FEMA Public Assistance projects which were originated during the historic 2004/2005 Atlantic Hurricane Seasons have been closed (minus a very small number that is still undergoing special processing by FDEM). This effort was a result of the hard work of the FDEM/DSI team and the aggressive performance measures implemented as part of DSI’s contract for professional services. Overall, the eight Presidentially-declared disasters from just these two seasons (Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne, Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Wilma) resulted in a total of 29,403 projects valued at $4,599,196,279.05. These disasters impacted a total of 4,209 unique applicants to the FEMA Public Assistance Program.
