Patricia began her role in Emergency Management in October 2004 where she worked as a Community Relations Reports Writer with FEMA. From there she moved on to become Information Chief and was responsible for composition of the Community Relations Daily Report which was disbursed to Cadre Leads, Managers, and other FEMA officials to track Florida activity during 2004 disasters. Patricia ventured on to work in FEMA External Affairs where she was responsible for composing articles highlighting Large Public Assistance (PA) Projects in Florida. The journey continued as she sought to learn more in the world of emergency management. In 2006, she began working in FEMA Mitigation as a Hazard Mitigation Grants Program Specialist. As Lead HMGP Specialist, her efforts lead to millions of dollars in mitigation funding being granted to the State of Florida. In October 2012, Patricia began working as a DSI contractor, partnered with FEMA, to write project worksheets for small and large projects during Florida’s Tropical Storm Debby. Patricia continued on to complete closeout of 2004, 2005, and 2012 Public Assistance Large Projects. Patricia also worked for the Florida Division of Emergency Management during the historic Hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005. In this role, she developed, monitored projects and actively pursued large project closeouts. Patricia has completed numerous FEMA training courses and assisted in developing various strategies to expedite funding to assist the citizens of Florida.
