Lisa has over 21 years’ experience in the areas of homeland security, law enforcement and emergency management.  She is currently a member of the Florida Direct Administrative Cost (DAC) team—specializing in the development of “category z” project worksheets documenting all administrative costs related to disaster events that have had an impact on Florida since 2009.  Since 2011, on behalf of the State of Florida, this team has developed and submitted reimbursement claims totaling over $30 million.  Prior to joining DSI, Lisa served as the Statewide Program Administrator for the My Safe Florida Home program at the Florida Department of Financial Services.  In this role she managed the completion of thousands of comprehensive home mitigation inspections resulting in the hardening of these residences and a substantial reduction in home insurance costs for residents.    She also worked for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for five years as a Public Information Officer, responsible for the entire Northwest Region of Florida (10 counties).  In this role, she was an active member of the Regional Domestic Security Task Force and was a first responder in a number of disaster events, including the major devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan.  Prior to FDLE, she worked in local law enforcement at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Pensacola, serving as their Chief of Public Information.  In all of her roles, Lisa has continually focused on responsiveness to the local communities and building partnerships for success across agency lines and disciplines.
