Amanda has worked in the emergency management field with DSI for 2 years. During this time, she has worked on eight Presidentially-declared disaster events and is experienced in all phases of Public Assistance Recovery—from damage assessments; to project development; to final inspections and closeouts. Using her experience as an attorney, Amanda specializes in eligibility reviews and policy interpretation for the development and closeout of FEMA project worksheets. She has significant experience in the area of disaster debris (Category A) and all infrastructure projects (Categories C-G), including matters related to insurance. Amanda is a vital part of our team ensuring every eligible dollar is obtained for our clients impacted by disasters. Amanda’s involvement in PA projects has shown an overall average increased reimbursement of almost 10%. Before joining DSI, Amanda began her legal career working as an assistant public defender in Florida's Ninth Judicial Circuit where she represented the accused in both misdemeanor and felony cases. She then transitioned into private practice with another firm wherein she represented insurance carriers and employers in workers’ compensation matters, as well as handled family law cases and civil litigation.
